Day 17, Day 3 of Week 3 – Tuesday, May 14, 2024

Dear Family,

Today is Tuesday, May 14, 2024. It is Day 17 and Day 3 of Week 3 in our Count to Pentecost.

The oasis at Elim had twelve springs; plenty enough for the Israelites and their flocks and herds.

Exodus 15:27 And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

God provided water for the thirsty in the middle of the desert. God has put physical water in many places on this earth. There is no lack of thirst-quenching water when we depend on God.

Of course, this supply of physical water for the thirsty has a wonderful spiritual counterpart.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said those who were hungry and thirsty for righteousness were blessed, because they would be filled. It is God‛s will to fill such thirsty ones with His righteousness. He actually wants us to thirst after it, and He promises to give it.

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Isaiah 41:17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

Isaiah 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Isaiah 12:3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

Let us recognize our need for God‛s water of life, His righteousness, His salvation, and truly thirst after it!
