Dear Family,
Today is Tuesday, June 11, 2024. It is Day 45 and Day 3 of Week 7 in our Count to Pentecost.
At Mt. Sinai, God entered into a marriage covenant with ancient Israel. He took them as His special people and placed His name on them. For centuries, God worked with this group of people, giving them awesome favor. And, of course, we know they proved to be an unfaithful wife.
In addition to this wonderful marriage relationship, God also offered ancient Israel another great place of favor. He offered them to become a kingdom of priests unto Him. However, the process of making them a kingdom of priests was never completely fulfilled.
Exodus 19:5-6 (5) Now therefore, if ye will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people: for all the earth is Mine: (6) And ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
Today, the Church of God has received God‛s calling to His “marvelous light.” We have been chosen to be His royal priesthood. And, we are in the midst of God‛s creative process.
Individually, we will all be new creations in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17), and collectively, we will become God‛s royal priesthood as well as a people who will show forth His praises forever.
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him Who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light;
Through the gift of His Holy Spirit, we have received the power from God for this to eventually be fulfilled. At the return of our Beloved Savior, these particular objectives will finally be complete.
These are all themes of the Feast of Pentecost. Let us look forward to this special time with renewed fervor and anticipation.
