Dear Family,

Today is Monday, May 20, 2024. It is Day 23 and Day 2 of Week 4 in our Count to Pentecost.

Exodus 13:22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

Exodus 14:19 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them

Exodus 15:27 And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

These three Scriptures remind us that God‛s presence was with the Israelites at all times. Whether they were moving or camping, God was watching over them, guiding them, and camping with them. He was constantly with them, and protecting them, although they generally seemed oblivious to His presence and His protection.

David reminds us all of God‛s goodness, provision, and protection for His people (those that fear Him) in the Psalms.

Psalm 34:7-10 (7) The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them. (8) O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him. (9) O fear the LORD, ye His saints: for there is no want to them that fear Him. (10) The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

Unlike the ancient Israelites, we can be aware of God‛s presence, including His Spirit within us and His angels surrounding us. During this season of Counting, let us look to God to heighten our awareness of all of the ways God favors us and deeply loves us.
